Kraków Mounds
Visit three beautiful mounds rose by the citizens of the town, some even hundreds years ago.
First mound - the Krakus Mound was built in 17th century with its 16m height. According to the legend that mound is also a grave of prince Krak who set up Kraków.
The second one, and probably the most famous one, is the Kościuszko Mound, rose between 1820-1823. Its height is 34,1m and it contains soils from the battlefields in Racławice, Maciejowice, Dubienki and American shambles as a testament to Kościuszko's contribution to those fights.
The last one and the youngest is the Piłsudski's Mound built in 1936 – established in honor of Józef Pilsudski and it is in the same time symbol of the independence of Poland. Enjoy great panorama of Kraków visiting legendary places and after all, relax on a terrace of the castle in Przegorzały, one of only few examples of building raised by the occupying Nazis.
